Summary of the book ancient medicine
This book is about how medicine has been evolving in the world giving examples from other countries. Greek medicine is the medicine developed in Ancient Greece. Probably based on Egyptian medicine, it dates back to Homeric times, although it was not truly developed until the 5th century BC. C. with Hippocrates. The Iliad quotes as doctors the Achaean warriors Macaón and Podalirio, [1] two sons of Asclepius, god of medicine, as well as the god Peán, doctor of the gods. The first was in charge, above all, of healing Menelaus, wounded by an arrow. He began by examining (ancient Greek) the sick man and after removing the arrow, he undressed the wounded man, sucked the blood from the wound and applied this to him during Greece, later he was advancing much more obvious medicine not as much now as the medina was magical bone towards home remedies and they thought it was magic since many of these worked now we speak a little more to history as I was saying they advanced medicine a little the doctors were not as specialized as those of today but a little more Egyptian doctors classified the diseases in: those of manifest causes, such as trauma, and those of unknown causes, attributed to the gods or evil spirits.
The hygiene of the doctors and the Egyptian medicine, the corporal bath the cleanliness and good presentation of the doctor, was taken very into account by the patients and the government the doctors were educated in special schools the houses of life, like those of Sais and Heliopolis. Medicine was free and linked to temples. In them, special care was provided to the sick and doctors were specifically trained through practices controlled by priests, practices that later those practiced medicine with the clientele in India Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India, where it arose ago more than 3,000 years. It is therefore the oldest medicine in the world. The word Ayurveda is made up of ayus (life) and veda (knowledge), which defines the essence of an entire ancient philosophy, which invites knowledge of life. And so medicine progressed until it reached what it is today. This is what this book was about. I hope you like this summary.
